No. MARC products are completely self-guided and there is no need for Wi-Fi for any function of MARC products during use. This is one of MARC's biggest benefits - no need for any connection or facility modifications!
The support page for MuL products can be found on our site at www.multechnologies.com/support. You can also scan the QR code on the handle of the cart to get there any time.
Product documentation can be found on our web site at www.multechnologies.com/documentation
No. MARC carts can be used without any ongoing charges.
Beginning with the 5 Series product line, we offer an optional software upgrade that gives users additional features. For details on the benefits of the Options package, please reach out to us.
MARC is the most economical autonomous robot available. Transparent pricing can be found on our online shop. There are no mandatory recurring fees of any kind, and no infrastructure requirements to operate.
Typically we do not need to do this since it is so easy to use. However, if we are requested to be on site there is an additional fee for that service. We also offer virtual training, an effective and easy way to see one-on-one how easy MARC is to use.
MARC carts use commercially available carts for the top structure. The cart is made from extremely durable Polypropylene plastic and won't rust, dent, chip, or peel.
The total weight of the large carts (4475 and 5475) cart is around 100LBS / 45KG with the battery pack installed.
The plastic shelving is fairly chemical resistant; however, the other parts of MARC were not designed to be exposed to harsh chemicals. If you have some specific chemicals you need MARC to transport, please contact us stating what chemicals you intend to expose MARC to and we will let you know if they are OK.
MARC products contain sensitive electronics and is not waterproof.
The easiest way to clean MARC products is to simply wipe down dirty areas with an alcohol wipe. MARC products should not be sprayed directly as there are sensitive electronics.
Yes. MARC carts can be rolled manually — both when powered on or off. If you are using the cart for a specific duty, the cart must be ON while manually moved in order for the sensors to track its position relative to the preprogrammed points.
We do offer quantity discounts. Please speak with a sales representative to find out more.
The 4 Series products only speak English. Starting with the 5 Series, additional languages are available as part of our Options package. Please speak with a sales representative to find out more.
Yes. Volume +/- buttons are located in the settings menu, which is accessed via the info button (5 Series) or the Battery Status button (4 Series). System volume adjusts all audio confirmations to accommodate various noise levels in all types of facilities.
MūL does not recommend modifying MARC products in any way. Doing so may void the factory warranty.
MARC products are currently only available in black.
All servicing is done at our factory. If you need a repair or are unsure if you do, please call us at 262-242-8830 or email contact@multechnologies.com
If you experience a problem with your EZ-Go Navigation panel, please contact us.
No. When moving between floors, MARC will not realize that the environment has changed and become disoriented.
Since MARC does not require any kind of pre-loaded map and the mapping process is extremely efficient, we have not had issues related to facility size with any implementation to date. We do have MARC units implemented in facilities over 1 million square feet.
The ambient temperature in MARC's operating environment must be between 5°C / 41°F and 45° C / 110°F for operation of the robot.
The warning beep simulates the sound a forklift truck makes while moving autonomously. To turn on beeping, press and hold the Beep button for >3 seconds till you hear the double-beep confirmation. The button will turn green and beeping will be active. To turn beeping mode OFF, press and hold the button for >6 seconds till you hear the triple-beep confirmation tone and the button will turn grey and beeping will be deactivated.
Looping mode tells MARC to automatically move from destination to destination sequentially. To turn on Looping Mode, press and hold the Looping Mode button for >3 seconds till you hear the double-beep confirmation. The button will turn green and the audio cue "Looping mode started" will be heard, indicating looping mode is now active. To turn Looping Mode mode OFF, press and hold the button for >6 seconds till you hear the triple-beep confirmation tone. The button will turn grey and the audio queue "Looping Mode off" will be heard, confirming that Looping Mode has been deactivated.
MARC products are designed with simplicity in mind. Current products do not offer integration for any third-party software.
Each MARC is completely autonomous and does not communicate with other carts. Being wireless is a tremendous benefit, as it allows for operation without Wi-Fi or other provision and offers independent movement of each MARC.
MARC has a 220lbs (100kg) maximum load capacity during autonomous operation. Note this includes both shelves combined.
The 4 Series MARC's maximum speed is .5 m/s or just over 1MPH.
The 5 Series maximum speed is 1 m/s or around 2MPH.
Once you have it unboxed, plan for less than an hour to read the user's manual. It is important that you understand the instructions completely before operating your MARC product. Then, inserting the battery pack, setting your destinations and starting to use MARC will take you less than 10 minutes!
The user can program any spot in their facility as a destination. With the 4 Series products, users can program up to 13 unique destinations at one time (e.g. one set to each of the location buttons).
For the 5 Series products, there are 20 locations available for use. This includes an additional 10 that are part of the Options package. Please reach out to your sales rep for more information on the Options package.
Note that locations can be removed or reprogrammed in seconds with a single button press.
Yes. MARC carts can be rolled manually — both when powered on or off. Note that if the MARC cart is moving autonomously, it should not be moved manually until the route has been canceled.
Moving the cart manually while it is operating in autonomous mode will result in wheel slippage and thus can cause MARC’s internal map to shift. This can result in the cart appearing to become confused.
The cart should always be paused before moving it around the obstacle. In other words, if it’s struggling to get around an unexpected obstacle and you want to move it manually, you can by following this general process:
Reminder: if the cart becomes confused as a result of manually moving it, the cart can be re-homed to get it back on track.
MARC utilizes an array of proximity sensors, high resolution depth cameras and a 360° LIDAR laser devices. More sensor details can be found on the Product page.
No. MARC is agoraphobic and must only be used indoors.
No. MARC is not designed for riders at any time.

Spare batteries are available in the store, and purchasing an additional battery means your cart can be used without interruption.

To remove the battery, turn the key to the unlocked position and use the handle on the end to remove the battery. Slide the new one till it engages the connections firmly. Turn the key to the ON position and power up the cart.
If you have lost the key(s) to your MARC, please contact us.
The 30AH battery takes around 4 hours to fully charge using the standard MuL 8A charger.

Note that the 5A and 8A chargers are not interchangeable and the connectors are physically different. Please reach out to your salesperson for additional information.
